Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is shocked the club allowed Scott McTominay to leave.
Speaking to BBC Sport in Turkey, where he now coaches top club Besiktas, Solskjaer said McTominay and Fred were two players who always gave their best on the pitch.
“Scott and Fred always gave 100%. I don’t understand how you can sell Scott,” Solskjaer said.
McTominay now plays in Italy for Napoli and has been performing well.

Solskjaer also spoke about how hard it is to watch Manchester United struggle this season. He called the club his “family” and said he still feels a deep connection to it.
He added that only three players – Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, and Victor Lindelof have stayed in touch with him since he left the club in 2021.
Solskjaer is now focused on helping Besiktas qualify for European football. His next big match is against Fenerbahce, coached by his old rival, Jose Mourinho.
