No Queues for June SIM Card Re-Registration in Ghana – Minister Assures

The SIM card re-registration exercise, expected to take place in Accra, Ghana, will be queue-free.

Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, announced this during his visit to Margins ID Group (Intelligent Card Production Systems) in Accra on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

The Minister emphasized that the re-registration of SIM cards is expected to start in June 2025.

According to the Minister, people will re-register their SIM cards online as a way of reducing the challenge of physical visits to registration centers. He indicated that the system will automatically verify citizens’ information, eliminating the need for manual processing.

The Minister stressed that this exercise requires all SIM card holders to re-register their cards using their Ghana Card.

Hon. Sam George thanked all stakeholders who have helped in diverse ways to streamline the process, which is designed to make registration more efficient and convenient for Ghanaian citizens.
