The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced to the general public regarding the replacement of Voter ID cards. The EC indicated that the Voter ID card replacement will start from Thursday, May 30th, 2024, to Friday, June 14th, 2024.

Concurrently, within this same period, the Commission will also facilitate the transfer of votes and accept applications for proxy voting. These pivotal activities are slated to unfold across EC district offices, selected electoral areas, and public universities, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all eligible citizens.

It is imperative to highlight that any attempt by a guarantor to vouch for more than 10 individuals, non-Ghanaians, or individuals under the age of 18 constitutes a criminal offense. This stipulation demonstrates the EC’s commitment to upholding the integrity and legitimacy of the electoral process.

It is essential for every Ghanaian to actively engage in the electoral process, exercise their democratic rights, and contribute to the collective endeavor of nation-building.
