The youth of Kofitiakrom in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region in Ghana have rejected and destroyed dual desks donated to a school in the town.

Despite the community’s dire need for desks for students, the youth said what they truly need is mobile network in the area and not desks.

In a video circulating on social media, the youth are heard shouting and chanting: “we don’t want desks, what we need is mobile network!”.

They cautioned the government to provide the town with mobile network, else they will not vote in the upcoming December 2024 elections. They further declared that until the mobile network is provided in the area, they will continue to reject any supplies from the government.

Now the BIG question on everyone’s lips is: “will Ghana Police apprehend the perpetrators in the video?” or “are the people right in carrying out the acts?”…

The video has received mix-reactions from social media followers. While majority think that the perpetrators in the video must be brought to book, others are of the view that if the government had lived up to expectations, all these would have been avoided.
