The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has sent a delegation to the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Ernest Kofi Davies, to congratulate him on his new role.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions and explore opportunities for improving Ghana’s education sector. WAEC and GES have long worked together to ensure the smooth administration of national examinations, and this meeting reinforced their shared commitment to educational excellence.
The delegation was led by WAEC Head of National Office , Dr. Rosemond Wilson, who highlighted the importance of a strong working relationship between WAEC and GES.
Their discussions centered on enhancing cooperation, particularly in the organization and conduct of key national examinations such as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The delegation expressed WAEC’s readiness to work closely with GES to ensure these examinations maintain the highest standards of integrity and efficiency.
Professor Davies expressed his appreciation to WAEC for the visit and the support extended to him in his new role. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening collaboration between GES and WAEC, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in advancing pre-tertiary education in Ghana.
He further assured WAEC of his dedication to ensuring that their partnership continues to yield positive outcomes for students, teachers, and the entire nation.
