The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the final timetable for candidates preparing to sit for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Ghana.
The timetable, which was published on WAEC’s official website and circulated to all accredited senior high schools across the country, outlines a detailed schedule of papers, dates, and times for each subject. The exams are expected to commence on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and conclude on Friday, September 19, 2025.
WAEC advised all candidates to take note of their respective examination dates and begin final preparations in earnest. The Council also urged candidates to avoid any form of malpractice and to approach the exams with integrity and discipline.
According to WAEC, “Heads of schools are to ensure that the timetable is made accessible to all final-year students and that adequate preparations are made to ensure a smooth conduct of the examination.”
This year’s WASSCE will be written exclusively by Ghanaian candidates, following recent adjustments to the academic calendar and examination timelines under the Ghana-only version of the WASSCE, which WAEC began implementing after COVID-19 disruptions.
Education stakeholders, including the Ghana Education Service (GES), have welcomed the release of the timetable, describing it as timely and essential for effective academic planning and final revision exercises across schools.
