Three Ghanaian students achieved remarkable success as they were honored at the prestigious WAEC International Excellence Awards held in Sierra Leone. The ceremony took place during the 72nd Annual Council Meeting in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Tuesday, 19th March 2024. This event served as a platform to celebrate academic excellence and recognize the outstanding achievements of students from across member countries of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The recipients of these esteemed awards are as follows;
- Amo-Kodieh Leonard Kofi Marton from St James Seminary Senior High School emerged as the Overall Best Student, showcasing exceptional academic prowess and dedication to excellence.
- Dzandu Selorm, representing Labone Senior High School, secured the Second place, demonstrating commendable academic performance and commitment to scholarly pursuits.
- Daniel Asenso-Gyambibi, also from St James Seminary Senior High School, attained the Third place, exhibiting outstanding academic achievements and determination in his studies.
The WAEC International Excellence Awards for WASCCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination) for School Candidates are bestowed upon the top three candidates from member countries participating in the WASSCE. These member countries include the Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Ghana.
