The former Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, has been granted bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on charges of rape and sexual assault.
Partey appeared in court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, for a hearing after being charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The 32-year-old denies all allegations and has now been granted bail.
It is important to note that Thomas Partey was charged by the Metropolitan Police in July—four days after leaving Arsenal. The alleged incidents involve three women and are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022.
He is reported to have signed a contract with La Liga side Villarreal following his departure from Arsenal, although a supporters’ club has criticised the Spanish team’s pursuit of the player.
Partey’s lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, has previously stated that he “denies all the charges against him” and now welcomes “the opportunity to finally clear his name” and continue his football career.
