The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition

The Parliament of Ghana, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced an opportunity for young Ghanaians to participate in an international writing competition for schools, under the patronage of Queen Camilla—”The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2025“.

This prestigious international writing contest is organized by the Royal Commonwealth Society and has been running since 1883. The competition aims to encourage young people to engage with pressing global issues such as the environment, equality, and youth leadership.

Who Can Enter the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition?

  • Junior Category: Open to participants under 14 years, with a maximum word count of 750 words.
  • Senior Category: Open to participants aged 14 to 18 years, with a maximum word count of 1,500 words.

How to Enter the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition?

Individuals who fall within the age brackets for either the Junior or Senior category are required to write an essay on the theme “Our Commonwealth Journey” and submit their entry online before 23rd May 2025.

Awards for the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition
