The Ghana Education Service Sends Best Wishes to 2025 WASSCE Candidates and Cautions Against Exam Malpractice

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended its warmest wishes to all candidates preparing to sit for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

In a press statement issued on Friday, 25th July 2025, the GES commended candidates for the commitment and determination shown throughout their academic journey. “You have come a long way. As you approach the final lap, stay focused, be confident, and let integrity guide your efforts,” the statement read.

The Service also used the opportunity to issue a strong caution against examination malpractice. It reminded candidates that true success is best earned through honest effort, not through shortcuts. “Do not allow yourself to be lured into any form of examination malpractice,” the statement urged.

To safeguard the integrity of the WASSCE, GES announced that it has been given approval by its Council to dismiss any teaching or non-teaching staff found to be complicit in examination misconduct. Likewise, students caught cheating will face serious consequences.

“This directive is part of a broader national commitment to uphold the credibility and fairness of our examinations. Any form of collusion, leakages, or attempts to compromise the process will not be tolerated,” the release emphasized.

GES further reminded all examination personnel of the immense responsibility placed on them to carry out their duties with the highest levels of professionalism and ethics. Regional and District Directors have been instructed to ensure strict compliance and enforcement of these measures across all centres.

In closing, the Ghana Education Service encouraged all candidates to remain determined and trust in their preparation. “You have made your families, your schools, and your country proud already. As you take this important step, carry the flag of Ghana with honour.”
