The Ashanti Kingdom Set to Celebrate the One Week Rites of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa on August 21

The Manhyia Palace has officially announced the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Asantehemaa (Queen Mother of the Ashanti Kingdom). She passed away peacefully on Thursday, 7 August 2025.

In a statement signed by Ambassador Nana Effah-Apenteng, Deputy Chief of Staff, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, informed the Asanteman Council of the Queen Mother’s demise on Monday, 11 August 2025.

The One-Week Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, 21 August 2025, at Bogyawe, Manhyia Palace, from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. As part of the observance, the Manhyia Palace has declared a ban on all funerals across Asanteman on that day, allowing the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman to honour the late Asantehemaa.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III was a revered traditional leader, deeply respected for her wisdom and dedication to preserving Ashanti culture and heritage.

“Her life and service to the Ashanti Kingdom will forever be remembered,” the statement said.
