Teachers are Worried: When Will CPDA and CIDSA be Paid?

Information circulating suggests that the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Controller and Accountant‑General’s Department (CAGD) have supposedly inform all teaching and non‑teaching staff on the government payroll that, in accordance with the 2025 salary and wages calendar released by CAGD, salaries for November 2025 are scheduled for payment on 24 November 2025.

It was however, stated that the Teacher Professional Allowance (Continuous Professional Development Allowance – CPDA) which was merged with the Complementary Instruction Digital Support Allowance (CIDSA) for payment in November 2025 has been withheld for this month. This decision follows ongoing consultations and does not reflect a cancellation of the allowance, merely a deferral to a later date which will be communicated in due course.

According to the circular, all other statutory salaries, wages and applicable allowances will be credited to staff accounts as indicated in the CAGD payment schedule.

This message has come as a shock and disappointment on the part of GES staff after these two allowances were validated in the November ESPV.

GES staff are waiting for an official communiqué for the non-payment for the CPDA and CIDSA allowances and the actual date they will be paid.
