Hon. Emmanuel Opoku, widely known as Teacher 80, has donated bottled water and lunch to support teachersβ Workshop on behalf of Hon. Samuel Addae Agyekum, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kumawu District.
The gesture aimed to facilitate the successful completion of a training workshop organized by the Kumawu District Education Directorate. This workshop focused on building Basic ICT Skills among teachers as part of the βOne-Teacher, One-Laptopβ (TM1) initiative, a national program designed to enhance digital literacy and resource availability in classrooms.
The workshop was held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Kumawu Anglican Church. The workshop provided targeted training for primary and kindergarten teachers within the Kumawu Circuits, equipping them with the necessary skills to integrate technology into their teaching practices effectively.
During the presentation, Teacher Eightey explained that he personally reached out to the DCE to request support for the event. Hon. Addae Agyekum sponsored the provision of bottled water and lunch for the facilitators and officers who attended the workshop, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of educators in the district.
Officials from the District Education Office expressed their gratitude to Teacher Eightey for his initiative and Hon. Addae Agyekum for his generosity. They commended the DCEβs commitment to education and the well-being of teachers in Kumawu.
The Officers appealed to the DCE, through Teacher Eightey, to extend his sponsorship to the subsequent two-day workshops scheduled in Bodomase and Dadease Circuits.
These workshops will enhance the ICT skills of teachers, aligning with the districtβs objective of equipping all teachers with the foundational digital competencies necessary for using the laptops provided.
