Stanbic Bank Ghana has once again demonstrated its commitment to educational empowerment with the donation of 50 laptops to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The donation supports the Vice-Chancellor’s ambitious “Support One Needy Student with One Laptop (SONSOL)” initiative, aimed at providing indispensable digital tools to deserving students especially those in STEM programs.
In delivering the laptops to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, the bank’s Executive Head for Brands and Marketing, Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu, reaffirmed Stanbic’s dedication to fostering greater participation in science and technology particularly among female students. He highlighted that the bank’s five-year action plan has resulted in the donation of a total of 350 laptops since the COVID-19 era.
Beneficiaries of the scheme expressed profound gratitude, noting the laptops have been invaluable for research purposes and online learning which a vital resource in an increasingly digital academic landscape.
