Saudi Arabia has pledged a massive $600 billion investment in the United States, following the signing of several bilateral agreements between former President Donald Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The deal covers a range of sectors:
- Energy: Oil, gas, and renewables partnerships
- Defense: A $142 billion procurement deal with U.S. defense companies
- Technology: $20 billion for AI data centers, plus $80 billion from U.S. tech firms
- Mining: Cooperation on critical minerals essential to green energy and high-tech production
The partnership is expected to boost U.S. job creation, GDP, and tech leadership, while strengthening U.S.-Saudi relations.
However, critics have flagged concerns over transparency, environmental risks, and Saudi Arabia’s human rights record, particularly amid growing scrutiny of foreign influence in U.S. politics.
