President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Evans Amoh Twumasi as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Sekyere South District in the Ashanti Region.
Mr Twumasi, a former banker and 2024 parliamentary candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is expected to bring a blend of financial expertise and political experience to the role.
His nomination, part of a broader reshuffle aimed at revitalising local governance, awaits approval from the Sekyere South District Assembly.

A respected figure in the community, Twumasi gained recognition during the 2024 general election campaign for his grassroots engagement and development-focused agenda, despite not winning the parliamentary seat.
If confirmed, he will oversee the implementation of government policies, spearhead local development efforts, and coordinate administrative functions within the district.
Twumasi previously held a senior role at Okomfo Anokye Rural Bank and is expected to prioritise sound financial management in district operations.
The nomination signals President Mahama’s intent to deepen district-level governance and empower capable local leaders.
