President Mahama Launches ‘Adwumawura’ Youth Programme

President John Dramani Mahama has officially launched the Adwumawura Programme, a major youth empowerment initiative, at a ceremony held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi.

The event, hosted by the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment in collaboration with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), was met with high enthusiasm as thousands of young people gathered to witness the launch.

The Adwumawura Programme aims to support more than 10,000 young Ghanaians each year by providing access to startup resources, mentorship, and funding. The goal is to help them start or grow sustainable businesses, contributing to job creation and national development.

President Mahama described the programme as part of a broader strategy to unlock the potential of Ghana’s youth. “This is your time. A bright future is here,” he said, calling on the youth to take full advantage of the opportunity.

Officials say the programme forms part of a series of interventions aimed at delivering on the administration’s promises to expand youth entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment.

“We are not just creating jobs—we are building a new generation of business leaders,” President Mahama stated.

The initiative reflects growing momentum around youth-led development and entrepreneurship in Ghana, with participants describing the event as a sign of renewed hope.
