Oyoko Methodist Senior High School in the New Juaben Municipality of the Eastern Region had its boys’ dormitory ravaged by fire on Monday, August 4, 2025.
According to reports, the fire outbreak started at one of the housemasters’ bungalows, which is located within the same area.
The school authorities quickly called the emergency lines of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in New Juaben for intervention.
Although the housemaster’s bungalow was severely damaged by the fire, the GNFS managed to control and extinguish the fire at the boys’ dormitory, reports indicate.
There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities resulting from the fire outbreak.
