Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the leader and CEO of Tiger Eye PI, has issued a swift response following Kennedy Agyapong’s press release, explaining to the general public that Tiger Eye PI’s victory lies in the judgment delivered by the U.S. Federal Court and not in the monetary award.

Full Details of the Release Are Given Below:

“As Ghanaians may recall, a few weeks ago, an American jury found Kennedy Agyapong guilty of maliciously defaming my character.

Following the jury’s verdict, an amount of $18 million was awarded in my favour against Kennedy Agyapong.

Subsequently, Kennedy Agyapong filed a motion for remittitur, asking the judge to reduce the amount awarded against him. In doing so, Kennedy Agyapong effectively admitted to having maliciously defamed me.

Today, the trial judge granted Kennedy Agyapong’s motion for remittitur and reduced the initial award to $500. This means that, while the judge upheld the jury’s finding that Kennedy Agyapong had defamed me, he considered the damages awarded by the jury to be excessive.

Many avenues of redress remain available to me. However, it is important to reiterate, as I have always maintained, that this fight has never been about money. It has always been a fight for truth and justice.

I am satisfied that not a single allegation was proven against me in court, despite Kennedy Agyapong being given every opportunity to substantiate his claims.

I will continue in my fight against corruption—and in doing so, continue to name, shame, and jail.”
