Students from the various schools presented their renewable energy projects, which were judged on innovation, feasibility, and relevance to local needs. The presentations drew admiration from both the panel of judges and the audience present.
This challenge, initiated in 2019 by the Energy Commission of Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, seeks to promote renewable energy education and innovation in second cycle institutions across the country. It also aims to help students explore clean energy solutions using locally available materials.
With their victory, Opoku Ware School will now prepare to compete at the national level, where they will face other regional champions for the ultimate title in renewable energy innovation among Ghana’s Senior High Schools.
