The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team has submitted its final report to President John Dramani Mahama. The report outlines key findings from investigations aimed at reclaiming state assets and preventing financial losses to the nation.

Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister and leader of the ORAL team, formally presented the compiled reports to President Mahama for consideration and necessary action. The submission marks a crucial step in ORAL’s ongoing efforts to identify and address cases where individuals or groups may have wrongfully acquired state assets.

For some time now, ORAL has been committed to uncovering issues that contribute to financial mismanagement and the illegal possession of public resources. The team’s work has particularly focused on investigating instances where certain individuals have taken control of state properties without due process.

We have received 2,417 complaints and cases, comprising 924 from emails and 1,493 from toll-free calls.

The President received the report and commended the team for producing such a great report and findings. He handed over the report to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and directed them to look into it one after the other for necessary action.

Reports indicate that ORAL is set to become a permanent agency dedicated to exposing and addressing acts of corruption and misappropriation. The initiative seeks to ensure that those found culpable are held accountable and that Ghana’s resources are protected from personal and parochial interests.
