The Korean Foundation for International Healthcare has donated a brand-new 4×4 Land Cruiser (Prado) vehicle to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) at their head office in Accra. This significant donation was made during the launch of the ‘Free Annual Health Check-Up‘ (AHC) initiative, an event that marked a crucial step in addressing non-communicable and chronic diseases in Ghana.
The launch of the AHC initiative was themed “Addressing Non-Communicable and Chronic Diseases in Ghana” demonstrated a major commitment by the NHIA to enhance public health. This program is scheduled to occur annually, ensuring that every Ghanaian has the opportunity to undergo a comprehensive health check-up free of charge.
Dr. Aboagye Dacosta, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NHIA, delivered an address during the event. He emphasized the importance of the NHIA’s new initiative, stressing on the necessity of proactive health management. Dr. Dacosta articulated that it is crucial for the NHIA to undertake such initiatives to ensure that all citizens of Ghana can access essential health services and be informed about their health status.
During the ceremony, Dr. Dacosta received the Land Cruiser vehicle from the lead representative of the Korean Foundation for International Healthcare. Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Dacosta acknowledged the generosity of the Korean Foundation, highlighting the significant impact the donation would have on the NHIA’s operations.
