The 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is set to begin on Monday, October 14, 2024. The contest will take place in Cape Coast from Monday, October 14 to Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
The competition will kick off with the Preliminary Stage, scheduled from October 14 to October 17, 2024. This will be followed by the One-Eighth Stage, which takes place from October 19 to October 21, 2024. The Quarter Finals will be held from October 23 to October 25, 2024, leading to the Semi-Final on October 27, 2024. The contest will climax in the Grand Finale on October 30, 2024, where the ultimate winner of the 2024 NSMQ will be crowned.
The 2024 NSMQ edition will see 126 schools competing for the coveted championship title.
The NSMQ, which has been held annually since 1993, aims to promote the study of science and mathematics among students in Ghana. It has become a platform for showcasing intellectual talent and fostering a competitive spirit in these subjects. Over the years, it has significantly contributed to raising the profile of science and maths education across the country.
In the 2023 edition, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC) emerged as the champions, continuing their legacy as a strong contender in the competition.
The 126 qualifying schools are eagerly preparing to leave their mark in the 2024 NSMQ, with each school hoping to secure victory and make history.
As the countdown to the event begins, the question on everyone’s mind is: which school will emerge as the winner of the 2024 NSMQ?
