Ministry of Education to Collaborate with Plan International Ghana to Boost Youth Employment

A delegation from Plan International Ghana which was led by Country Director Constant Tchona, met with the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, to explore potential collaborations aimed at addressing youth unemployment.

During the meeting, the delegation proposed the establishment of a “Hub of Excellence”, a specialized training center focused on equipping young people with technical skills in automotive repair and maintenance. The initiative seeks to enhance youth employment opportunities by providing hands-on training that aligns with industry demands.

Reports indicate that the initiative will not only empower young people with employable skills but also support Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) teachers. As a way equipping educators with advanced knowledge and modern techniques, the program aims to ensure that students receive high-quality training that meets industry standards.

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu expressed strong support for the initiative, emphasizing that it aligns with the Ministry’s vision of equipping the youth with practical skills essential for economic growth. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering partnerships that promote technical education and create sustainable employment opportunities for young Ghanaians.
