Mbappé Breaks Records in Real Madrid Debut Season

Kylian Mbappé’s inaugural season with Real Madrid has been nothing short of historic.  The French forward clinched the 2024/2025 European Golden Boot as he becomes the first Real Madrid player since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2015 to earn the prestigious award.  Mbappé netted 31 goals in LaLiga amassing 62 points in the Golden Boot rankings and totaled 42 goals across all competitions.

His remarkable performance didn’t stop there.  Mbappé also secured the Pichichi Trophy as LaLiga’s top scorer as he becomes only the fourth player in league history to score over 30 goals in their debut season.  He surpassed the debut season goal tallies of Real Madrid legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud van Nistelrooy who each scored 33 goals and came close to Iván Zamorano’s record of 37 goals.   In addition to his domestic success, Mbappé achieved a unique treble by winning the European Golden Boot, World Cup Golden Boot, and Champions League Golden Boot a feat unmatched in football history.

Mbappé’s debut season also included standout performances in key matches such as scoring against both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, an accolade even Ronaldo didn’t accomplish in his first season with the club.   As Real Madrid prepares for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, Mbappé’s extraordinary debut season has already cemented his status as one of the game’s greats.
