Six people have been arrested in connection with the killing of a 25-year-old man who was allegedly lured under false pretenses and murdered for ritual purposes.
According to the Volta Regional Police Command, the victim, Nelson Anyena, a mason, was enticed by a 21-year-old woman, Augustina Fiawoyife, who allegedly contacted him under the guise of a romantic meeting. The incident occurred on 4 December 2024, shortly after Anyena relocated from Wusuta to Mafi-Adidome to join his wife.

Police investigations revealed that the victim was directed to a remote location, where two suspects, Wisdom Hedidor and Courage Bedzo, allegedly strangled him. His body was then handed over to a fetish priest in exchange for GH¢7,000, authorities said.
The suspected spiritual leader, Noah Gblor, was arrested alongside two other individuals — Yohannes Gblor, a security guard, and John Gblor, a lotto writer — in operations carried out in Blorkorfe and Awakpedome, both communities within the Central Tongu District.
The case came to light following weeks of police surveillance and investigation. An exhumation exercise at the shrine of Noah Gblor on 7 July 2025 led to the recovery of two additional unidentified bodies buried at the site. These remains have been transferred to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for autopsy and DNA analysis.
All six suspects are currently in police custody and have been remanded by the court. They are scheduled to reappear on 8 August 2025, while police continue efforts to determine the full scope of the crime.
The Volta Regional Police Command has praised the cooperation of the local community and assured the public that all suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Residents and family members of the deceased have been urged to remain calm as investigations continue.
