The Mampong Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana successfully held its much anticipated annual quiz and essay competition on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The event which aimed at promoting academic excellence drew participation from five key districts including Kumawu, Mampong, Nsuta, Ejura, and Agona as each district registered both Primary and Junior High School (JHS) learners.
The competition began around 10:34 am and was attended by over 150 estimated students, teachers, and invited guests. Participants were quizzed in key subject areas such as English Language, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Religious and Moral Education (R.M.E), and Presbyterian issues.
In the Primary division, the competition was fierce with the following final rankings after five rounds which went further to justified their scored points.
1. Ejura Presby – 53 points (Champions)
2. St. Andrews Presby – 51 points
3. Jamasi Presby – 49 points
4. Kumawu Presby – 25 points
5. Nsuta Presby – 16 points
For the JHS division, the results were equally engaging:
1. Emmanuel Presby Model – 59 points (Champions)
2. Kumawu Presby – 45 points
3. Nsuta Presby – 43 points
4. Agona Presby – 32 points
5. Ejura Presby – 29 points
The event was graced by the presence of the Presbytery Education Director, Rev. Seth Duodu Abedi, and the Presbytery Clerk. Their attendance added weight and inspiration to the program as it’s highlighted the Church’s commitment to nurturing young minds both spiritually and intellectually.
The Presbytery praised all participating schools for their hard work and encouraged continued preparation for future events. This annual gathering remains a key platform for developing academic excellence and instilling confidence in Presbyterian learners across the region.
