Liverpool Darwin Nunez Seals Transfer Moves to Al-Hilal

LIVERPOOL DARWIN NUNEZ

The Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez has officially signed for Saudi Pro League’s Al-Hilal, ending his three-year stint at Liverpool. The transfer was confirmed by both clubs on today 9th August, 2025.

According to a renowned sports journalist, Fabrizio Romanos, the deal includes a reported €53 million (£46 million) fixed fee, with performance-related add-ons potentially raising the total to around €65 million (£56.6 million). Nunez has already joined Al-Hilal’s squad currently in pre-season training in Germany.

During his time at Anfield, the 26-year-old made 143 appearances, tallying 40 goals and 26 assists, while helping Liverpool to a Premier League title among other honors. However, his final season was marked by limited playing time which is just a handful of starts and a modest goal return prompting move discussions earlier in the summer.

In exchange, Liverpool will reinvest as they are eyeing reinforcement options particularly at striker. Alexander Isak of Newcastle is reportedly their top target, though significant valuation and availability hurdles remain.
