Ghanaian entertainment heavyweight Kwadwo Nkansah, known affectionately as Lil Win, has taken aim at Emelia Brobbey, a fellow Kumawood alum who has ventured into media presenting. The scathing reaction follows Emelia’s recent interview with Sandra Ababio on the Okukuseku Talk Show on YouTube, which reportedly stirred controversy.
Lil Win flatly rejected invitations from colleagues who have “abandoned the craft” of acting to become media personalities. “I won’t sit down for my colleague actor or actress who became a journalist by force following the mitigation of the industry to interview me,” he proclaimed. “I will not allow them to leave their issues at home to ask me questions… What sense do you have to interview me?”
He doubled down on his stance: “I won’t allow a colleague who has abandoned the craft to invite me for an interview so they’ll use me to sell their content… I prefer patronising unknown bloggers over the actors who think they have made it. Even if I come, I’ll charge you.”
Lil Win also leveled criticism at the wave of filmmakers-turned-broadcasters, warning that he could easily flip the script: “I could also abandon film and bring cameras into your homes and bring out your issues, but I won’t.”
