Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), has been relieved of his duties and is expected to hand over to a yet-to-be-announced new CEO.
According to JoyNews sources, the decision was made after a meeting with the Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.
Hon. Mintah Akandoh expressed his appreciation to Prof. Addai-Mensah on behalf of the government during the meeting.
Prof. Addai-Mensah has served as CEO of KATH since 2022 and has overseen a number of key projects, notable among them being the infrastructure upgrades under the Asantehene’s Heal KATH project.
It was under Prof. Addai-Mensah’s leadership that the famous renovation project, dubbed the ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project’ (HeKAP) – an initiative to make KATH a modern health facility was introduced.
The government is expected to announce a new CEO for KATH, hopefully, in the coming week.
