Kejetia Market Management Asked to Step Aside ?

A letter with the heading “Formation of Interim Management Committee” is circulating on social media. The letter, signed by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, references meetings between the management of Kumasi City Market (Kejetia), the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, and the Regional Coordinating Council.

It states that the council has received petitions from traders and stakeholders concerning the market’s management.

As a result, the letter directs the current management of Kumasi City Market to step aside to allow for investigations into allegations against them.

Meanwhile, an Interim Management Committee has been formed, consisting of:

Prince Ofori Atta – Chairman

Amoah Prince Nyarko – Operations Manager

Nana Prempeh Amankwaa – Security

The letter further requests all necessary documents be made available to assist the committee in its work.
