Black Sherif, popularly known as Blacko, has openly shared insights into his career journey, stating that “I could’ve sold clothes or tyres if it weren’t for music.”
The award-winning Ghanaian musician revealed this in an interview on the Afro Select Show. The “Second Sermon” hitmaker shared that without his successful music career, he could have easily been found in retail or following in his family’s footsteps in the automobile spare parts trade.
“If I wasn’t doing music right now, I would probably be hustling crazy, doing clothes stuff in Accra. Or maybe, if I wasn’t in Accra, I would be selling my daddy’s tyres in Konongo,” he stated.
Black Sherif also revealed that his father was actively involved in a family business that sold car engines and spare parts. Growing up around that environment, he said, helped shape his early life.
Despite his rise to fame in the music industry, Black Sherif emphasized that life itself is a great struggle and requires individuals to fight hard to break through and make things a little easier for themselves.
“I am one of the few individuals who has risen from nowhere, but with determination and hard work,” he added.
