The Member of Parliament for KEEA constituency, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills, went to a special soccer event at the Islamic Basic School field in Ayensudo on Sunday, 31st December, 2023. He went there with Mr. D.B Mensah, the Assembly Member of Ayensudo, and other important local leaders. Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills was invited as special guest at this event.
This soccer event was organized by young people from Ayensudo as part of their end of year activities. Their goal was to find new talented soccer players and create a chance for everyone to come together and have fun.
Teams like Attabadze’s Nana Edu club, Nsadwir Soccer club, Ayensudo New Hope Academy, Bronyibima FC, and eight more teams competed in this event. In the final match, Bronyibima FC played against Ayensudo New Hope Academy, and the latter won with a score of one goal to zero.
While speaking to everyone there, the Member of Parliament was happy to see an event that brings young people and the community closer. He said events like this are essential to help keep peace in the area. He also promised to help finish building the first Astro turf pitch at Kissi, which will be used for professional soccer games.
Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills praised the soccer skills on display, how well everyone behaved, and the many people who came to watch. He commended the young people who organized the event and encouraged other communities to do similar things.
Moreover, recognizing the paramount importance of encouragement and solidarity in such endeavors, a meaningful and tangible expression of support was thoughtfully extended to the organizers. This deliberate action was meticulously designed to not only to affirm a unified front but also to instill a sense of reassurance and empowerment among the participating teams, highlighting their significance within the larger context of the event.
He took the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with each person in attendance, emphasizing the significance of staying dedicated to their pursuits, particularly as they embarked on the journey into the New Year. Additionally, he found immense delight in observing the vibrant display of talent and skill demonstrated by the youth, an uplifting highlight amidst the festive Christmas celebrations. His appreciation for their creativity and enthusiasm further ignited a sense of hope for the promising year ahead.
