Hon. Mubarak Muntaka Commissions GIS Centre of Excellence and Newly Constructed Residential Accommodation

Hon. Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, the Minister for the Interior and Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has commissioned the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Centre of Excellence and newly constructed residential accommodation for GIS officers in Accra.

Reports suggest that the GIS Centre of Excellence will serve as a post-entry training and professional development facility, equipping officers with the skills needed to effectively promote and manage migration-related issues.

It was also revealed at the commissioning ceremony that the residential accommodation comprises 84 modern units – including two- and three-bedroom apartments. The new facility is expected to significantly improve the living conditions of GIS personnel.

Hon. Muntaka commended the Ghana Immigration Service for its steadfast dedication and professionalism in the discharge of its duties.

He assured all present that the Ministry for the Interior remains committed to prioritizing the allocation of resources to enhance national security.

The Minister entreated the Acting Comptroller-General and his management team to ensure the proper maintenance of the facility. A comprehensive maintenance plan, he emphasized, is essential to uphold the integrity and reputation of the Centre and to foster a culture of accountability and community living.

Mr. Samuel Amadu Basintale, the Acting Comptroller-General, expressed his gratitude on behalf of GIS mamanegemt for the Ministry’s support, stating that the commissioning marks a significant step toward addressing the urgent housing needs of GIS personnel and reflects the Ministry’s commitment to the Service’s long-term development and progress.
