Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim Donates Trunks and Chop Boxes to 2024 BECE Candidates

Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, the Member of Parliament for the Kumawu Constituency, has made a significant donation to support candidates for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in his constituency.

The event, held on Friday, November 1, 2024, took place at his office in Oyoko. During this occasion, Hon. Anim presented trunks and chop boxes to outstanding students from each Junior High School in the Kumawu District who have gained admission to various Senior High Schools across the country.

Hon. Ernest Anim was joined by key officials, including Hon. Samuel Addai Agyekum, the District Chief Executive for Kumawu District; Mr. Kwame Oduro Owusu, the District Director of Education; Mr. Owusu Kwarteng, Head of Finance and Administration at the Kumawu Education Directorate; and Mr. Joseph Mensah, the District Examination Officer. Together, they celebrated the academic achievements of these young students and encouraged them as they embark on the next phase of their educational journey.

As part of the event, Hon. Ernest Anim shared words of encouragement with both the students and their parents. He urged them to take their studies seriously and stay focused on their goals as they transition into Senior High School. He highlighted the importance of dedication and hard work in realizing their aspirations and assured them of his continued support throughout their educational journey.

Hon. Ernest Anim presented a cash prize of 2,000 Ghana Cedis to the overall best student, Miss Ellen Osei, who stood out among her peers. He reaffirmed his commitment to helping her and other students excel academically and expressed his hope that their achievements would inspire future candidates.

Hon. Anim encouraged the community to continue supporting the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy, describing it as a transformative initiative by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. He emphasized the policy’s impact on making secondary education accessible to all Ghanaians and urged everyone to play a role in preserving and strengthening it for the benefit of future generations.
