Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister for Education, held his first official meeting with Development Partners (DPs) on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The meeting was attended by representatives from approximately 17 Development Partner organizations, focused on strengthening collaboration to enhance Ghana’s education sector.
Key discussions centered on critical areas such as infrastructural development, teacher training, digital education, and policy reforms. Hon. Iddrisu acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Development Partners in advancing educational initiatives across the country. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering a high-quality, inclusive, and innovative education system that equips Ghanaian students with the skills needed for the future jobs.
During the engagement, Development Partners reaffirmed their dedication to supporting the Ministry’s vision and working collaboratively to achieve shared educational goals. They emphasized the need for sustainable interventions, particularly in bridging the digital divide, improving learning outcomes, and enhancing access to quality education in deprived communities.
Hon. Iddrisu assured the Development Partners of the government’s willingness to implement policies that drive impactful educational reforms. He expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership would lead to transformative changes, ultimately benefiting students, educators, and the entire education ecosystem in Ghana.
