The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has supposedly issued a release to inform the general public- particularly parents/guardians and prospective students – about some unaccredited study centres affiliated with universities in Ghana.

The release emphasized that certain study centres used by the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the University for Development Studies (UDS), and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to run academic programmes are not accredited.

It further stressed that, because these centres affiliated with universities in Ghana are not accredited, applicants who pursue programmes at these centres do so at their own risk.

The list of unaccredited centres is provided below:

The release strongly urged parents/guardians and prospective students to avoid enrolling in programmes offered at these unaccredited study centres.
