The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has issued a press release urging the general public to disregard a recruitment notice for the 2025 General Population and Housing Census circulating on social media.
The release states as follows:
“The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has noted the circulation of false information regarding a recruitment process for a “2025 General Population and Housing Census.” The information, including the link (https://tinyurl.com/GH-CENSUS-2025), is NOT authorized by GSS and should be disregarded.
GSS wishes to clarify that the official Population and Housing Census is conducted every 10 years, in line with international best practices. The most recent census was conducted in 2021, meaning the next one is not due in 2025. Consequently, GSS has not announced any recruitment for a census exercise.
Any official communication on recruitment will be published only through GSS’s official channels.
GSS disclaims any responsibility for losses, damages, or inconveniences resulting from engagement with such unauthorized schemes. Individuals found behind these fraudulent acts will face legal action.
We urge the public to remain vigilant against such misinformation and to verify all recruitment-related information directly with GSS.
