GNACOPS National Secretariat Visits Akwapem North to Monitor Private Education in the Municipal

On October 18, 2024, a team from the National Secretariat of the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS), led by Obenfo Nana Kwasi Gyetuah, the National Executive Director, embarked on a two-day visit to the Akwapem North Municipal.

The team consisted of key members, including the National Executive Director, the Training Officer, the Deputy Administrator, the Regional Coordinator, the District Coordinator, and some media personnel.

The primary purpose of this visit was to engage with private school owners, educators, and students, as the 2024/2025 academic year had already commenced.

GNACOPS aimed to assess and support the ongoing efforts in the private education sector. As part of their dedication to fostering quality education throughout Ghana, the visit was seen as a courtesy call to all private schools within the district.

According to reports, the GNACOPS team interacted with school administrators and teachers to monitor the delivery of education and ensure the effective implementation of current educational reforms. They sought to identify opportunities to enhance teaching and learning within the private school sector. The team emphasized their commitment to offering support to private schools to uphold the standards of education.

During their tour, the GNACOPS team visited 21 schools, where they acknowledged and commended the hard work and dedication of the educators. The Executive Director commended school owners and teachers for their unwavering commitment to providing quality education and encouraged them to continue their excellent efforts.

Additionally, the Executive Director provided a detailed orientation on the GNACOPS-UEW program, highlighting its significance for the professional development of teachers. He urged educators to actively participate in the program, which is designed to enhance their skills and qualifications, ensuring that private schools maintain high standards of education.

GNACOPS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting private schools by empowering educators and other stakeholders towards a brighter future for education in Ghana.
