In an exciting encounter at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Ghana U 15 boys’ team edged past South Africa 1-0 to advance to the semifinals of the CAF African Schools Football Championship.
The match was decided by a first half goal from Ignatius Hagan, the top scorer from the 2024 WAFU B African Schools Championship Qualifier. Hagan capitalized on a well placed assist from John Andor who showcased his dribbling skills before setting up the goal. Despite South Africa’s efforts in the second half, Ghana’s defense led by center back Abdul Razack held firm to secure the victory.

Ghana has accumulated 6 points from two matches in Group A which is positioning them strongly ahead of their final group stage match against Algeria. South Africa despite their spirited performance will need to re-organize themselves and prepare as they face Uganda and Algeria in their remaining fixtures.
