Ghana to Observe National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Tuesday, July 1

Theme: Reflect, Reset and Renew for National Prosperity

The Government of Ghana has designated Tuesday, 1st July 2025, as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, under the theme “Reflect, Reset and Renew for National Prosperity.” The initiative seeks to foster national unity, spiritual reflection, and a renewed sense of commitment to Ghana’s development.

The service will feature interfaith services for both Christian and Muslim communities. The Christian service is scheduled to take place at CCC Ayigya, near the Tech Police Station in Kumasi, from 8:00am to 10:00am. A Muslim service will follow at 12:30pm at the Kumasi Central Mosque in Asawase.

The President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, is expected to join worshippers in Kumasi to mark the day. His participation reflects the government’s commitment to national reconciliation and spiritual renewal.

According to organisers, the day will serve as an opportunity for Ghanaians to reflect on the country’s progress, confront its challenges with hope, and renew their dedication to peace, development, and prosperity.

All citizens are encouraged to participate actively in this national exercise whether in churches, mosques, or homes by praying for the nation’s leaders, communities, and future generations.
