The National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced that Wednesday, 21st May 2025 will be observed as National CPD Day to support the professional development of teachers across the country.
In a letter addressed to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Council confirmed the completion of Phase 1 of a nationwide training programme on Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being. The training, conducted in partnership with KATON 360, involved face-to-face sessions in all regions. The next phases will now be delivered virtually.
NATIONAL-TEACHING-COUNCILAll master facilitators have been fully trained to guide teachers through the online modules, which will be implemented across all 261 districts. Training schedules and details for each district have been distributed to support coordination.
The Council is requesting GES to:
*Officially declare 21st May as National CPD Day, allowing all teachers to participate.
*Instruct Regional and District Directors of Education to collaborate with CPD facilitators and ensure a smooth rollout of the virtual training phase.
