Ghana to Host State Funeral for Helicopter crash Victims

H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, has announced to the general public, through a press release, that a state funeral will be held for the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.

Five public officials and three Armed Forces personnel tragically lost their lives in the crash while on an official state assignment to Obuasi.

The statement indicated that the state funeral will take place on Friday, August 13, 2025, at the Black Star Square, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The Funeral Planning Committee has extended an invitation to individuals, institutions, and the general public to come together in remembrance and to honour the lives of those who died in the helicopter crash.
