The Ghana Education Service (GES) is set to commence the second phase of monitoring the implementation of the Student Transcript System (STS) in Senior High Schools (SHS), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS), and STEM institutions across the country.
The exercise, scheduled from 23rd June to 4th July 2025, is being conducted in collaboration with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), and the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA).
According to the directive, the initiative aims to assess the progress schools have made in implementing the digital STS platform, which tracks and manages students’ academic records. The monitoring also seeks to evaluate the use of the Transcript Portal, which is designed to enhance transparency and data management in schools.

The directive states that each school will be visited by two monitors for a day. These monitors will coordinate directly with heads of institutions to schedule suitable visits and determine what further support may be required.
In a directive signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of Schools and Instructions Division, all Regional Directors have been instructed to notify heads of SHS, SHTS, and STEM schools and ensure their full cooperation.
He emphasized that the move forms part of GES’s broader strategy to strengthen digital innovation in education and improve accountability in the tracking of student performance nationwide.
