The Ghana Education Service (GES) has commenced the release of index numbers for qualified teaching staff who applied for the 2025 Teacher Promotion Examinations.
Applicants seeking promotion to the ranks of Principal Superintendent (PS), Assistant Director I (ADI), Assistant Director II (ADII), and Deputy Director are receiving their index numbers via SMS from GESPE2025.
According to information available, the messages began reaching applicants in the evening of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, with the process expected to continue until all eligible candidates have been notified.
SMS Format for Index Numbers
The SMS sent to applicants follows this format:
Dear [Name], [Staff ID], your index number for GES promotion exams is [REGION/CENTRE/RANK/YEAR/CODE]. Exam centre is XXXXX, XXXXX. Date is 30th December, 2025 at 9:00am.
Applicants are advised to carefully review the details in the message, including their exam centre, rank, and index number, and keep the information safe for future reference.

- Date: 29th & 30th December, 2025
- Time: 9:00am prompt
- Centres: As indicated in individual SMS notifications
GES expects that all invited applicants will have received their index numbers by the close of the week.
