The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released a guidelines document for Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in Senior High Schools across all second-cycle institutions.
According to a statement issued, the purpose of the guidelines is to:
- Streamline the functions of PTAs to align with national education policies.
- Promote transparency and accountability in the use of PTA funds.
- Strengthen collaboration between parents, teachers, and school management in the delivery of quality education.
- Ensure uniformity in the structure and operations of PTAs in all Senior High Schools.

The release also urged all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education to notify all heads and staff of Senior High Schools to ensure strict compliance with the provisions outlined in the PTA Guidelines document.
In addition, parents, teachers, students, and the general public are encouraged to study and familiarize themselves with the provisions in the PTA Guidelines document to promote effective collaboration and understanding in the management of school affairs.
