Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is scheduled to present the government’s 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
The presentation, in accordance with the Public Financial Management Act, is expected to provide an overview of the country’s economic performance during the first half of the year, revise key fiscal targets, and outline new measures aimed at achieving the government’s economic recovery agenda.
Sources at the Ministry of Finance say the review will focus on prioritising social interventions, job creation, and strategies to tackle inflation, reduce debt, and stabilise the cedi. Analysts are also anticipating updates on revenue performance, expenditure trends, and the government’s fiscal outlook for the remainder of the year.
This mid-year update comes at a time when many Ghanaians are calling for prudent spending and a renewed focus on cost-cutting measures amid global economic headwinds.
Dr. Ato Forson, who was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama in January, has repeatedly assured the public of government’s commitment to restoring economic stability and protecting vulnerable groups through targeted support policies.
The Finance Minister’s address is expected to generate keen interest from Parliament, the business community, and the general public as Ghana continues its journey towards economic resilience and inclusive growth.
