Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana, was designated to represent President Akufo-Addo at the 2nd Biennial Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion (A.M.E) Church held at the Pentecost Convention Center (Yesukrom) in Gomoa.

At the conference, Dr. Bawumia extended his warmest congratulations to the Presiding Bishop of the Western West Africa Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Zion Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard K. Dela Dogbe, for his election as the new Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana.

In his address, Dr. Bawumia expressed his admiration for the numerous significant contributions the church has made to various sectors such as education, healthcare, and the socio-cultural development of the nation. He emphasized that these contributions are clear indicators of the pivotal role faith-based organizations play in the progress of Ghana. “This is a testament to the usefulness of faith-based organizations in Ghana’s progress, and I am glad our churches are leading the charge,” Bawumia stressed.
