The Cyber Security Authority of Ghana, working jointly with National Security, has carried out a major cybercrime operation in Kasoa Tuba, leading to the arrest of 32 suspects believed to be involved in an organised romance scam network.
According to information Hon. Samuel Nartey George who is the current Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations for Ghana, the dawn operation dealt a significant blow to cybercriminal activities in the area. The suspects, identified as Nigerian nationals, were allegedly running online romance scams aimed at defrauding unsuspecting victims.
Romance Scammers Arrested in Ghana



The operation forms part of ongoing national efforts to curb cybercrime and protect Ghana’s digital space. Authorities indicated that intelligence-led surveillance preceded the arrests, ensuring a swift and controlled operation.
The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, led by Hon. Samuel Nartey George, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Cyber Security Authority in strengthening enforcement actions. The ministry stated that Ghana will continue to take firm steps to ensure the country does not become a safe haven for cybercriminals.
Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be processed in accordance with Ghanaian law.
