Nigerian president, Bola Tinubu is set to deliver a national address on Sunday, August 4, 2024.

This was made known in a statement on Saturday evening by Ajuri Ngelale who is Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity.

The address will be broadcasted live by Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN). The broadcast will also be available on multiple radio, television and other electronic media outlets. This is to ensure that all Nigerians have maximum opportunity to hear the message.

Mr. Ngelale urged all media houses to join the network services of the NTA and FRCN. This includes online electronic media outlets.

The statement added, “The broadcast will be repeated on the network services of the NTA and the FRCN at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm Nigerian time on the same day.”

Meanwhile protesters have already continuously hit the streets in Lagos, Oyo, Abuja and other states. They are calling for, among others, the reversal of fuel subsidy removal and the skyrocketing price of goods and services in the country.

One of the street protests dubbed #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria has been marred with looting by hoodlums in Kano and other northern regions. The Police have since been going after the culprits to recover some of the items.

What are your expectations of the impending address? What should be the key points to be addressed by the President?
